FTE:0.600000 Standard Hours: 24.00 Shift: Shift 3 Shift Details: 1900-0730Holidays: Rotating Weekends: Every third Job Summary: The Critical CareTechnician (CCT) assists the Registered Nurse with delegated tasksrelated to the acute care of the patient. Provides age appropriate carein a culturally and ethically sensitive manner. Reports to the NurseManager of the assigned unit and the RN's on duty on each assignedshift. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High Schooldiploma or equivalent is required. TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Completion ofthe Critical Care Tech course or equivalency within 6 months of hiredate. Successful completion of a skill competency checklist (validatedby a Registered Nurse) is required. Successful completion of arrhythmiarecognition course and successful orientation to the monitor room towork as a monitor technician is required within 6 months of hire forstaff in the FWBH MCU and the FMFH 2nd floor MCU. Candidates with priormonitor technician experience may complete a written competency test tomeet this requirement. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Ability to read,write and communicate verbal and written communication. LICENSUREDESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification isrequired, otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program andable to provide documentation from an accredited school for professionalnurses indicating successful completion of the basic nursing coursewhich encompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsinadministrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care nursingmedical/surgical clinical rotation. American Heart Association (AHA)Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approvedequivalent is required within 90 days of hire. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification is required,otherwise must be currently enrolled in a nursing program and able toprovide documentation from an accredited school for professional nursesindicating successful completion of the basic nursing course whichencompass all of the criteria noted by the State of Wisconsinadministrative code and a minimum experience of one acute care nursingmedical/surgical clinical rotation.
