FTE: 0.001000 StandardHours: 0.01 Shift: Shift 1 Shift Details: Holidays: Weekends: JobSummary: The Surgical Technologist handles instruments, supplies andequipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Has an understandingof the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of thesurgeon. Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure qualitypatient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigilfor maintenance of the sterile field. He/she will perform other relatedduties as needed to maintain department cost containment, efficiency, aswell as quality performance. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: A minimum of 1 yearof work experience as a Surgical Technologist is required. Is competentin role as a Surgical Technologist and displays advanced knowledge andability to independently perform roles and tasks related to the field ofsurgical technology. Anticipates surgeons' needs and is acknowledged bystaff as advanced in field. Ability to first assist is preferred.EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Post high school education, certification or diploma pletion of a Surgical Technologist program, completion of MilitaryOperating Room Specialist course or the Froedtert Health sponsoredapprentice II program required. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: American HeartAssociation (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS)or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.Certification as a Surgical Technologist is highly preferred.
