We are looking for a curious and driven Physical Security Engineer to work on security projects.As a Security Engineer, assigned to a local Jacobs office, but working remotely if desired, you will work alongside our other security technology team members. You will have the opportunity to plan and produce security designs for buildings, facilities, and sites. This involves working with our security teams to produce security schematics and schedules; to develop security plan drawings; to produce calculations for video storage, bandwidth consumption and power loads; to provide input in cross-discipline coordination efforts; and to aid in the identification of conflicts or inconsistencies with architectural, civil, electrical and instrumentation groups. In this role, it is not expected that you will have extensive experience in security technology or that you have an established professional network of industry contacts. However, we do require a willingness to learn, an ability to dedicate yourself to growth in a rapidly evolving technology field, and a commitment to join a strong team and help with a wide variety of tasks.Our experienced team will work with you to teach you the fundamentals of physical and electronic security, building your knowledge of video surveillance, card access systems, biometric controls and physical intrusion detection technologies. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering degree.u2022 Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required but a plus.u2022 A professional Security Certifications (CISSP, CPP, PSP, CCNA, RCDD etc) is preferred.u2022 An exceptional understanding and at least 5 years of experience in physical security topics; video surveillance, card access, biometric systems and intrusion detection.u2022 Self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis skills, technical problem-solving ability, and organizational skills.u2022 Experience leading a team or project as being a design lead/subject matter expert will be needed in this role.u2022 Elevated understanding of various tradeoffs between wireless, fiber optic and copper cabling communications technology.u2022 Elevated understanding of network technologies and cyber security principles.u2022 Proficiency in reading engineering plans and schematic drawings.u2022 Proficiency in reviewing and writing Division 28 specifications.u2022 Experience using Bluebeam editing tools and design collaboration software.u2022 Ability to travel 30% of the time.#LI-KS6Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
