Work involves complex office functions to include compiling and tabulating data, checking documents for accuracy, handling and transporting documents and/or stock and inventory, processing, and delivery of mail for the three Finance Commission agencies, maintaining files, and overseeing maintenance and repair services for Finance Commission of Texas headquarters facilities. Works under limited supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.Job Duties:and#8226;Oversee warehouse operations, including stocking and issuing materials, equipment, supplies, merchandise, and/or other inventory.and#8226;Oversee the receipt and tracking of inventory or retail merchandise shipments and the loading and unloading of stock and merchandise.and#8226;Issues or ships supplies to headquarters and regional locations.and#8226;Reviews and maintains records of purchases, assigns inventory numbers, and monitors inventory and stock control records following loss prevention and agency guidelines.and#8226;Maintains files for all incoming open purchase orders.and#8226;Oversees receipts of purchases. Ensure that items delivered are properly received, inspected, and forwarded to the requesting party.and#8226;Create purchase orders as requested.and#8226;Delivers or picks up documents, supplies, equipment and/or materials.and#8226;Performs routine building and equipment maintenance.and#8226;Arranges and oversees the Finance Commission building and grounds, including repairs and services.and#8226;Assists with arranging, scheduling, transferring, and displaying surplus property.and#8226;Performs mailroom services including the processing of outgoing mail, incoming mail, distribution of mail for the three Finance Commission agencies, and verifying/signing for all certified mail as required.and#8226;Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications: Required Minimum Qualifications:Experience and Education Requirements:and#8226;Graduation from an accredited High School or equivalent.and#8226;Three yearsand#8217; general storesand#8217; experience including property accounting and inventory controland#8226;Experience working in a mail roomand#8226;Must have a valid Texas driverand#8217;s license and a satisfactory driving record.Preferred Qualification:and#8226;One year of experience with Centralized Accounting and Payroll/Personnel System (CAPPS).Special Requirements: and#8226;Position requires minimal overnight travel, up to 5%.and#8226;Must possess a vehicle capable of transporting supplies and mail.and#8226;Must possess or obtain within 90 days a valid Texas Driverand#8217;s license. Satisfactory driving records are required for driving any vehicle to conduct agency business. Final applicants must certify that personally owned vehicles used for agency business have Texas minimum liability coverage and a valid state inspection.and#8226;This position requires that the incumbent demonstrate strong personal financial responsibility and integrity.and#8226;Applicants selected for an interview may be asked to complete a work style pr file.and#8226;Final applicants will be subject to an employment credit check, driving record check, and criminal background checkKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:and#8226;Knowledge of rules for handling mail; methods and procedures used in purchasing, receiving, storing and issuing stock; of standard warehouse procedures; of procedures used in keeping inventory records and maintaining adequate stock levels.and#8226;Knowledge of routine building maintenance methods and procedures.and#8226;Knowledge of inventory methods.and#8226;Knowledge of computers and applicable software.and#8226;Skill in the use of normal office equipment including personal computers, fax machines, photocopiers and mailing equipment.and#8226;Skill in minor repair and maintenance related to job assignment.and#8226;Skill in the safe operation of a vehicle.and#8226;Skill in oral communication.and#8226;Ability to transfer stock from one location to another and follow prescribed store and inventory control standards.and#8226;Ability to classify and identify stock by sight; to keep complex stock records and prepare related reports; to maintain adequate stock levels; to understand and follow departmental policies and procedures; and plan the arranging and rotating of stock.and#8226;Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and coworkers; and to deal with the public.Physical Requirements and/or Working Conditions:This position requires the incumbent to frequently perform sedentary office work; however, mobility (standing and walking) is routinely required to carry out some duties. It requires extensive use of a personal computer, copiers, printers, telephone and client/customer contact. The job also requires normal cognitive abilities requiring the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies. It requires the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions.Marginal or corrected visual, speech and auditory requirements are required for reading printed materials and computer screens and communicating with internal and external customers. Ability to lift at least 30 pounds. Position requires frequent work under stress, as a team member and in direct contact with others.
