Position Type Full-Time/Regular This position supports and advancesresearch focused on the neurobiological bases of age-related cognitivedecline and recovery of function following brain injury in rhesusmonkeys. The role involves independent management of complex laboratoryoperations and performance of highly specialized scientific procedures,including brain tissue harvesting, freezing, sectioning, andhistological analyses. Maintains inventory and handles procurement forthe laboratory. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance withinstitutional biosafety (IBC) and USDA regulations, maintaining researchintegrity through effective data and biospecimen management, andcoordinating research activities among students, technicians, andcollaborators. The position plays a key role in organizing majorresearch events such as perfusions and euthanasia of USDA-regulatedspecies. Although this position does not include formal supervisoryauthority, it provides guidance, training, and oversight to juniorlaboratory members to ensure accuracy, safety, and consistency inlaboratory practices. Required Skills Bachelor's degree with 3-5 yearsof related experience.
