Shop Helper

Job Title: Shop Helper Job Description We are seeking a dedicated shop helper to join our team. This role involves a variety of tasks, including preparing surfaces and painting custom assemblies, assisting with material check-in, supporting fabrication tasks, and maintaining shop cleanliness. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and a positive attitude, ready to collaborate with technicians to meet production schedules. Responsibilities + Prepare surfaces and paint custom assemblies using airless, HVLP, and conventional spray equipment. + Work with various paint types: industrial enamel, 2-part epoxies, polyurethane. + Assist with material check-in and verify parts against bills of materials. + Clean and prepare hydraulic reservoirs for testing and painting. + Support fabrication tasks such as cutting, deburring, and beveling. + Operate basic shop machinery under supervision. + Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and assembly drawings. + Maintain shop cleanliness and perform preventive maintenance. + Collaborate with technicians to meet production schedules. Essential Skills + Ability to accurately read tape measures within 1/16 inch. + Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn fabrication techniques. + Ability to operate shop equipment including band saws, drill presses, ironworkers, and pipe threading tools. + Strong attention to detail and safety awareness. + Positive attitude and effective communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School diploma or GED required. + Experience with sanding, spray painting, hand tools, blasting, powder coating, coating, paint sprayer, and prepping.
