Job Summary: New Gradsand level 1 practitioners welcome to apply The Respiratory CarePractitioner (RCP) 2 is highly proficient in the management and deliveryof respiratory care. Demonstrates competencies in respiratoryassessments and procedures for all patient populations and age groups.Performs and interacts as a healthcare professional administeringrespiratory care procedures acute care areas and critical care areas.Demonstrates critical thinking skills and the mastery of clinical skillsoutlined in the RCP 2 COT. Precepts students on rotation. Exhibitsleadership skills and is able to act as lead therapist as needed. Underthe direction of the Pulmonary Services Leadership team, providesprofessional respiratory care to patients in accordance with thehospital's policies and procedures. Other information: EXPERIENCEDESCRIPTION: Minimum of 1 year of experience plus the ability to showRCP II competency within 6 months of hire/transfer into role isrequired. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital settingproviding respiratory care is preferred. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:Associate degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Care program isrequired. Bachelor's degree is preferred. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:Critical thinking skills are required. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State ofWisconsin license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner is required;Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the National Board ofRespiratory Care (NBRC) is required. For incumbents in this role priorto 7/1/21, the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) will be accepted inlieu of the RRT. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support forHealthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required.American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) isrequired. Advanced specialty credential from the NBRC or Asthma EducatorCertification(AE-C) from the National Asthma Educator CertificationBoard (NAECB) is preferred.
