Today, we serve more than 30,000 individuals annually across six neighborhoods, striving for a community where everyone can thrive.POSITION SUMMARYThe Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and coordination support for the Human Resources department, ensuring the timely and accurate execution of high-volume HR tasks. This role supports both the HR Generalist and the Director of HR & Talent Management and plays a key role in maintaining efficient HR operations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESRecruiting and Hiring Administrationu2022tPost and close job openings as instructedu2022tCoordinate interview scheduling and candidate communications when requestedu2022tPrepare and track offer letters and pre-employment documentation.u2022tInitiate and track background checks.Onboarding and HR Administrationu2022tEnter and maintain employee data in the HRIS.u2022tSend onboarding packets and track completion of required documents.u2022tSupport orientation logistics and scheduling.u2022tTrack time-bound and compliance-related employee documents (e.g., licenses, certifications, required reviews)u2022tMaintain digital and physical personnel files.Benefits and Leave Supportu2022tEnter benefits enrollments and terminations.u2022tTrack benefits documentation and deadlines.u2022tSupport open enrollment logistics and communications.u2022tRoute benefits and leave questions appropriately.General HR Supportu2022tPrepare employment verification letters.u2022tTrack performance evaluation completion and acknowledgments.u2022tAssist with unemployment documentation and recordkeeping.u2022tProvide basic HRIS and system-access troubleshooting.u2022tAssist with HRIS setup tasks, including accrual configuration using established templatesEXPERIENCE AND SKILLSRequired Experience and Skillsu2022tAssociateu2019s degree or equivalent experience in HR or administration.u2022tOne to three years of administrative experience.u2022tStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.Desired Experience and Skillsu2022tNonprofit or HR experience.u2022tHRIS experience.u2022tBilingual or multilingual skills.WORK LOCATIONThis in-person role is based in St. Paul, MN.BACKGROUND CHECK REQUIREMENTNeighborhood House is required to conduct background checks on all final candidates because of our work with youth and families.
