Position Title: Vice President of Investor Relations Reports to: President & CEO Position Summary: The Vice President of Investor Relations is responsible for leading, managing, and expanding the membership investor relations department for the Kansas Chamber. The Vice President of Investor Relations is responsible for the development of new membership, upgrading existing members, and managing all details of the sales cycle with prospective organizations in a timely and accurate fashion. They will lead the retention and/or past-due collection of existing memberu2019s annual investments. This position is ideal for a candidate interested in building and sharpening skills in public policy, project management and business development. They will have the opportunity to interact with Kansasu2019 top business leaders to support the Chamberu2019s advocacy efforts. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sales skillset, excellent organizational, communication and data analysis skills, and be proficient in Microsoft 365. Knowledge of public affairs and how state government and business interests intersect is highly preferred. Major Duties and Responsibilities: + Consistently engaged in the development of new and existing investor relationships: + Research and develop lists of potential members, cross generate leads, schedule meetings, and follow up with additional marketing materials or proposals with the appropriate representative of the prospective company, to help solidify new member relationships. + Presents the Chamberu2019s mission and objectives to executives of prospective organizations and prepares formal proposals; leads negotiations, coordinates complex decision-making process, and overcomes objections to closure. + Represents company at various association gatherings to promote the Chamber and its mission. + Coordinates with Events and Communications team on advertising activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail. Ensures marketing communications are coordinated, supports marketing plan objectives and meets organizational expenditure requirements in conjunction with Vice President of Events and Communications. + Collaborates with the President/CEO, Director of Communications, and Government and Political Affairs divisions to facilitate new marketing tools, events, messages, campaigns and offerings. + Works with the Events team to raise sponsorship dollars for the Chamberu2019s annual dinner, PAC golf tournament, DC Fly-In and other events. + Develops annual marketing and service plan in support of organizational strategy and objectives. + Provides input and support to the Companyu2019s leadership in the development of joint ventures, affiliations and partnership arrangements. + Performs other duties as assigned by the President & CEO. Expectations: u00b7 Meets and exceeds income growth goals through establishing, building, managing, and maintaining relationships with prospective companies and existing members. u00b7 Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the organizationu2019s members, vendors, and external contacts and to represent the Chamber in a highly professional manner. u00b7 Travel across the state is required to for in-person meetings with members and prospective member companies. u00b7 Creates and enhances a positive public image. u00b7 Establishes credibility throughout the organization and with the Board and Executive Committee as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges. u00b7 Maintains up-to-date awareness of Chamber activities, industry trends, public policy and state politics. u00b7 Attends training seminars, meetings or educational activities to stay up to date on the latest technology, trends, and regulations in the marketplace. u00b7 Attends events which involve the Kansas Chamber; also attending those events which the President & CEO deem important to the organizationu2019s public image. These events may occur after business hours. u00b7 Possesses a high degree of proficiency with MS Office products; including Word, Excel, Access, Power Point, Outlook and the MCTrade database. u00b7 Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality. Ability to handle sensitive material concerning the organization and the executiveu2019s role within the organization. Respects memberu2019s confidentiality and privacy and communicates with them in a courteous and respectful manner. u00b7 Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands. u00b7 Demonstrates sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns, especially in regard to any adverse feedback from new or existing members. Resolves concerns with appropriate executive or member in a timely manner. u00b7 Uses independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload. u00b7 Communicates effectively in writing, paying close attention to detail. u00b7 Consistently works in a positive and cooperative manner with fellow team members. This position has the responsibility for maintaining frequent and regular updates to the Kansas Chamberu2019s database- MCTrade to reflect current membership information. Implement new database procedures to maximize the database and works in conjunction with the Chamberu2019s Vice President of Operations and the President & CEO to assure a timely month-end close. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES u00b7 This level of knowledge is normally acquired through a bacheloru2019s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, Political Science or other closely related field, and a minimum of 5 yearsu2019 experience of successful sales and/or marketing experience in intangible services to business owners or executives. u00b7 Thorough knowledge and understanding of sales practices and techniques. u00b7 Strong business planning, time management skills & analytical skills are required. u00b7 Knowledge and understanding of state and national issues and Kansas Chamber policy positions. u00b7 An understanding of business needs of the community. u00b7 Excellent interpersonal skills including sales and customer relationu2019s skills. u00b7 Sales aptitude/self-motivated/goal oriented; Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales objectives. u00b7 Excellent communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver persuasive oral and written reports and presentations.
