Senior Project Engineer Los Angeles, CA (Los Angeles Trade Tech College Project) Overview Harper Construction is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team on a high-profile public education construction project at Los Angeles Trade Tech College. Position Summary The Senior Project Engineer will support the Project Management, Quality Control, and Safety teams, with a major emphasis on DSA reporting, compliance documentation, and project coordination. You'll help ensure projects stay aligned with regulatory requirements and internal quality/safety standards. Key Responsibilities DSA Compliance & Reporting + Lead coordination and tracking of all DSA documentation, logs, inspections, and submittals. + Ensure timely submission of DSA reports and support successful compliance during inspections. + Collaborate closely with Inspectors of Record (IOR), designers, and subcontractors. Project Documentation & Controls + Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes. + Maintain accurate records in Procore and other systems; drive project documentation workflows. + Support schedule updates, budget tracking, and financial reporting with the Project Manager. Quality & Safety Support + Assist Quality Control with inspection reports, testing documentation, and compliance logs. + Support Safety team documentation and tracking of safety compliance and reporting. + Help enforce contract requirements and best-practice standards across teams. Coordination & Communication + Document and distribute professional project meeting minutes with action items. + Facilitate communication with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants. + Proactively identify and report risks or scope changes to leadership. Qualifications + 2u20135 years of experience in commercial construction, preferably in Project Engineer or similar roles. + Experience with DSA compliance and California public works/K-14 projects highly preferred. + Strong organizational and documentation skills with high attention to detail. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction management tools. + Experience supporting large, complex projects ($25M+) is a plus.
