Java Technical Analyst

Cognizantu2019s Engineering practice is seeking a highly Java Technical Analyst to bridge the gap between complex business requirements and technical execution. In this role, you will analyze, design, and oversee the implementation of scalable Java-based Microservices and API-driven solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring that our technical architecture is robust, efficient, and aligned with modern software development standards. Please note: _A few of our roles may require in-person interviews at Cognizant offices or client locations, depending on project or client needs_ _Cognizant will not sponsor H-1B or other U.S. work authorization for this role._ Key Responsibilities + System Analysis & Design: Translate high-level business requirements into detailed technical specifications, focusing on microservices architecture and RESTful API design. + Technical Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert for the development team, providing guidance on Java best practices, design patterns, and performance optimization. + API Management: Define and document API contracts, ensuring seamless integration between internal services and third-party systems. + Impact Analysis: Perform deep-dive analysis on existing systems to determine the impact of new features or architectural changes, particularly within distributed environments. + Java Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Java (8/11/17+) and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security). + Microservices Architecture: Proven experience designing and deploying distributed systems, including knowledge of service discovery, circuit breakers, and load balancing. + API Development: Strong expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs and GraphQL . Familiarity with API Gateway tools (e.g., Apigee, Kong, or AWS API Gateway). Required Skills 10+ years of experience with Java and Spring Framework. Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native patterns. Hands-on experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, and API management tools. Knowledge of service discovery, circuit breakers, load balancing, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Salary and Other Compensation: The annual salary for this position is between $87,000- $141,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
