The courses tobe taught include introductory programming courses (level 200-400) andmay also include advanced undergraduate courses (level 500). Thestandard workload is two 3-4 credit courses per semester, which may betwo lectures of the same course or two different courses. Class sizesare typically in the 150-450 student range. Associated duties include,but are not limited to: maintaining course webpages; developing examsand assignments; managing student grades; developing and maintainingcourse management tools to support grading and testing; holding weeklyoffice hours; training and supervising teaching assistants. Depending onthe course, teaching assistants may lead discussion and laboratorysections. Duties also include service on departmental committeesassociated with undergraduate education and advising, teaching a 1-credit course, developing new curricula, or other similar duties.
