Job Title: Machine Saw Operator Job Description We are looking for an experienced Machine Saw Operator to apply metal to customer orders and accurately process material according to work order specifications. The role requires maintaining processing equipment in a safe and clean condition, ensuring the processing area is orderly, and completing all required information entry accurately. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment where materials are cut to meet customer requirements. Responsibilities + Operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment. + Pull, inspect, and verify product before processing. + Properly and safely set up equipment to run material according to setup note specifications. + Process setup notes according to work order specifications. + Verify product meets setup note specifications per written work instructions and record measurements. + Communicate with appropriate sales representatives regarding changes/clarifications to orders. + Perform equipment preventive maintenance. + Properly enter/delete material identification tags per written instructions. + Perform general clean-up and assist in packaging material per written work instructions. + Maintain issued measurement equipment in working condition. + Properly operate weighing scales and record inspection measurements. + Identify, record, and segregate scrap and any non-conforming material. + Provide feedback to supervision regarding machine efficiency and product quality. + Complete job responsibilities safely, avoiding unsafe situations. + Train others when required. + Assist in activities related to lean and/or quality. Essential Skills + Certified in material handling. + Ability to read and write. + Basic math skills. + Forklift operation experience. + Computer literacy. + Saw operation with 2+ years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. + Inventory control utilizing math skills. + Blueprint reading. Additional Skills & Qualifications + High school diploma or GED. + Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. + Previous warehouse experience, particularly in the metals industry. + Use of handheld measuring tools. The position involves operating various saws, including waterjet, bandsaw, drill press, and CNC machines. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, KS.
