Prime Air is seeking a Systems Development Engineer with strong scripting and automation skills to help transform manual workflows into efficient, reliable, and scalable automated systems.This role is focused on driving operational excellence by partnering with senior engineers to understand current manual processes, build technical playbooks, and implement robust automation solutions using scripts and tooling. The ideal candidate will have experience in scripting languages (such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell), a strong understanding of data validation techniques, and a passion for creating maintainable, auditable automation pipelines.Export Control License: This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon’s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.Key job responsibilities•Collaborate with senior engineers to analyze and document existing manual processes.• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to replace manual workflows.• Build and document automation playbooks that are reusable and scalable.• Implement and maintain data validation logic to ensure automation quality and data integrity.• Participate in the continuous improvement of systems, tools, and processes related to test and operational infrastructure.• Monitor and troubleshoot automated processes, ensuring reliability and performance.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).- Experience with data handling, validation, and transformation.- Familiarity with automation frameworks and tools.- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience working with hardware or embedded systems test infrastructure.- Exposure to systems engineering or operations engineering.- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools.- Engineering degree in Computer Science preferredAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
