This is a dynamic role offering a balanced blend of operating room time, trauma/inpatient consults, and outpatient clinic, working alongside nationally recognized hand surgeons and a highly collaborative specialty team.This position is open to new graduates with a strong interest in orthopedic and hand surgery. Position OverviewThis APP will play a key role in the care of patients with complex hand and upper extremity conditions, including hand trauma, elective surgical cases, and inpatient orthopedic consults.Clinical Breakdown: 50% Emergency Department/Inpatient Consults - Evaluation and management of hand and upper extremity patients throughout the hospital, including trauma cases 30% Outpatient Clinic - Pre- and post-operative visits, follow-ups, and new patient evaluations 20% Operating Room - First assist in hand and upper extremity surgical procedures Schedule Full-time (1.0 FTE) 40 hours per week Day/Evening shift Hours vary One Saturday per month for call coverage with overtime compensation Team & Environment Work closely with world-renowned hand surgeons Join a robust and supportive team of: 6 Advanced Practice Providers 14 Hand Surgeons High-volume, academically oriented orthopedic program with strong mentorship and learning opportunities Qualifications Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) Eligible for Maryland licensure and hospital credentialing Interest in orthopedic surgery, hand surgery, plastic surgery and trauma care New graduates encouraged to apply This is an exciting opportunity to build specialized expertise in hand and upper extremity surgery within one of the region's leading orthopedic programs.To learn more about MedStar Health Ortho at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital click below:This position has a hiring range of USD $115,003.00 - USD $143,916.00 /Yr.
