The Manufacturing Intern position presents the student with a hands-on opportunity to assist in the development and evaluation of new and alternative manufacturing processes. Manufacturing and Engineering SupportAssist in the implementation of Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to establish process capability metricDevelop working knowledge of general manufacturing processesSupport data collection and analysis for quality metrics, trends, and continuous improvement initiativesEvaluate and troubleshoot optical fabrication processesHelp review and update quality documentation such as work instructions and formsHelp develop process procedures and work instructions where none existUpdate existing procedures and work instructions as necessaryTraining in CAD softwareParticipate in process improvement projects and risk-based problem-solving activitiesComply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulationsCross-Functional CollaborationWork with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to support quality objectivesParticipate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement activitiesCommunicate findings, observations, and recommendations clearly and professionallyTo perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The posted salary range for this role reflects the expected base pay.
