Diagnostic Radiology Sonographer, Full-Time Nights

Join UChicago Medicine, as a Radiology Sonographer in the Imaging Department.Eligible for a Sign-On Bonus up to $20,000The employee will perform Ultrasound and related procedures to demonstrate sectional anatomic images for interpretation by or at the request of a licensed practitioner. The technologist will provide appropriate patient care and recognize patient’s conditions essential for successful completion of the procedures. The services are provided in accordance with industry standards, department protocols and hospital policies and procedures.Essential Job Functions:Competent in all general abdominal and pediatric exams with duplex within 45 minutesCompetent in general and advanced department protocolsParticipates and assists APN in biopsy procedures independentlyCompetent in transplant organ exams; Liver, Renal and PancreasParticipates in training of Level I sonographers, students and residentsActively participates in process improvement activities and educational presentationsDemonstrates responsibility in order accuracy and protocolPerforms other duties assigned by Lead Technologist and Department ManagerParticipate in imaging evaluation and improvement with Imaging Technical CoordinatorRequired Qualifications:Satisfactory completion of formal Ultrasound training program through a CAAHEP approved schoolARDMS registered in Abdominal (AB) and Vascular (RVT) Imaging with active competency demonstrated in areaof credentialsARDMS registered in Pediatrics (P) within 1 year of placement as a Sonographer IIMinimum 1 year experience to include advanced abdominal vascular experienceEffective communication skills and excellent patient care skills requiredHandle high pressure, fast paced work environmentExcellent team workAbility to work independently on callCPR and BLS training requiredPosition DetailsJob Type/FTE: 1.0 FTE/Full-TimeShift: NightsUnit/Department:Rad Ultrasound- Hyde ParkCBA Code: Non-UnionNo Visa Sponsorship Available#UCMImaging!To apply, please email your resume to ;ve been at the forefront of medicine since 1899.
