Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Port Washington, New York. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and has a strong background in accounting, particularly within the distribution or manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of financial records and supporting the organizationu2019s financial processes. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. u2022 Oversee general ledger activities, including maintaining account accuracy and resolving discrepancies. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries to support financial reporting needs. u2022 Perform account reconciliations to ensure alignment between financial statements and actuals. u2022 Conduct bank reconciliations to verify transactions and balances. u2022 Utilize SAP and BlackLine systems to streamline accounting operations and reporting. u2022 Collaborate with teams to improve accounting processes and maintain compliance. u2022 Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights. u2022 Assist in preparing documentation for audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting is required. u2022 At least 7 years of experience in accounting with attention to detail. u2022 Proven expertise in the distribution or manufacturing industry. u2022 Proficiency in financial systems, including SAP and BlackLine. u2022 Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and general ledger management. u2022 Experience with journal entries and account reconciliations. u2022 Ability to conduct bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently. u2022 Background in public accounting is a plus, with interest in transitioning to private accounting.
