Job Description The Process Controller is responsible for developing and maintaining Statistical Process Control (SPC) weight sheets to monitor product compliance. This role ensures the calibration and proper functioning of scales and other measuring equipment, conducts thorough inspections at all stages of production, and inputs and maintains test data digitally for efficient review and analysis. Responsibilities + Develop and maintain SPC weight sheets to monitor product compliance. + Ensure calibration and proper functioning of scales and other measuring equipment. + Conduct inspections at all production stages, verifying ingredient part numbers and descriptions align with the formula. + Input and maintain test data digitally using a tablet. + Complete mass balancing checks at least twice per shift. + Analyze inspection data and prepare reports on weight control, finished goods, and quality checks. + Identify opportunities for quality control enhancements and implement effective methods. + Communicate quality or compliance concerns promptly. + Ensure all ingredients staged on the production line correspond to the approved formula. + Record target weights and operating weight ranges on SPC weight sheets and tablets. + Complete graph charts and weight check sheets as outlined in SOP. + Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring scales are free from debris. + Train new employees on process procedures and standards. + Adhere to all GMP, food safety, and plant safety regulations, reporting concerns immediately. + Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management. Essential Skills + Quality control or machine operator experience in food manufacturing. + Proficient in using test equipment such as Quantum meters, Bostwick meters, weight scales, calipers, thermometers, rulers, and calculators. + Capable of performing basic math calculations with a calculator. + Excellent organizational skills with the ability to analyze, interpret, and graph data on SPC documents. + Strong oral and written communication skills. + Basic computer skills, including proficiency in using tablets and familiarity with MS Word and Excel. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kankakee, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.70 - $20.70/hr.
