Job Summary: New Grad and level I practitioners welcome toapply The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) 2 is highly proficient inthe management and delivery of respiratory care. Demonstratescompetencies in respiratory assessments and procedures for all patientpopulations and age groups. Performs and interacts as a healthcareprofessional administering respiratory care procedures acute care areasand critical care areas. Demonstrates critical thinking skills and themastery of clinical skills outlined in the RCP 2 COT. Precepts studentson rotation. Exhibits leadership skills and is able to act as leadtherapist as needed. Under the direction of the Pulmonary ServicesLeadership team, provides professional respiratory care to patients inaccordance with the hospital's policies and procedures. Otherinformation: EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Minimum of 1 year of experienceplus the ability to show RCP II competency within 6 months ofhire/transfer into role is required. A minimum of 2 years of experiencein a hospital setting providing respiratory care is preferred. EDUCATIONDESCRIPTION: Associate degree from a CoARC accredited Respiratory Careprogram is required. Bachelor's degree is preferred. SPECIAL SKILLSDESCRIPTION: Critical thinking skills are required. LICENSUREDESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin license as a Respiratory CarePractitioner is required; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for theNational Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) is required. For incumbents inthis role prior to 7/1/21, the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)will be accepted in lieu of the RRT. American Heart Association (AHA)Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approvedequivalent is required. American Heart Association (AHA) AdvancedCardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required. Advanced specialty credentialfrom the NBRC or Asthma Educator Certification(AE-C) from the NationalAsthma Educator Certification Board (NAECB) is preferred.
