Process Engineer

Description A great Robert Half client is seeking a Process Engineer to develop, refine, and optimize machining processes for precision aerospace components. This role will focus on improving process efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and supporting new product introductions in a high-tolerance environment. Key Responsibilities + Develop and optimize CNC machining processes (milling, turning, grinding) for aerospace components + Select tooling, cutting parameters, and workholding solutions for tight-tolerance parts + Create and maintain process documentation and standardized work instructions + Support new product introduction (NPI) from prototype through full production + Conduct root cause analysis for dimensional, surface finish, and quality issues + Improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and increase overall machine utilization + Perform capability studies (Cp, Cpk) and apply statistical process control (SPC) methods + Ensure compliance with AS9100 and other aerospace quality standards + Collaborate with programming, quality, and production teams + Assist with capital equipment selection, implementation, and machine validation Requirements Required Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering + 5+ years of experience in precision CNC machining (aerospace experience preferred) + Strong understanding of GD& T and blueprint interpretation + Experience working with tight tolerances (u00b10.0005u201d or tighter) + Experience machining aerospace materials including Titanium, Inconel, Aluminum alloys, and Stainless Steel + Working knowledge of SPC and quality management systems Preferred Qualifications + Experience in aerospace manufacturing environments + Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, SolidWorks or similar) + Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification + Experience with process validation and First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation + APQP or PPAP experience Robert Half is the worldu2019s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
