Climatic Wind Tunnel Test Technician- 2nd Shift

Job Description Second Shift Onsite: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis. This position is second shift with a start time approximately 2pm. The Role The Climatic Wind Tunnel Technician will perform a variety of technical tasks related to vehicle integration, test & validation, development, and instrumentation. In this role you will have the opportunity to work with prototype vehicles The selected candidates will be expected to perform with a high level of technical expertise. What You'll Do + Responsible for test property installation, fixturing, instrumentation installation and validation, teardown/removal of test equipment and vehicles for the various types of wind tunnel tests. + Responsible for staging, movement, build, teardown, and validation of all wind tunnel vehicles. + Complete assignments according to work requests, on-time, with high quality. + Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems with test vehicles and instrumentation. + Collaborate with others inside and outside the work group & work effectively in a team environment. Able to work in a diverse work environment. + Ability to develop, produce and maintain departmental performance metrics. + Maintains safety and good housekeeping standards, supporting Lean Process implementation + Create and maintain an environment that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential; Consistently model GM Behaviors in everything they do Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications) + Functional understanding of math and engineering principles; Ability to read engineering drawings & understand mechanical concepts + Associates Degree in Applied Science or similar; or equivalent training & experience. + Training in data acquisition equipment installation & operation + Completion of recommended Corporate training programs + Analytical ability to find solutions when problems are somewhat complex + Working knowledge of Safety Processes and Procedures + Working knowledge of Laboratory test equipment and procedures + Results-oriented problem solver + Outstanding interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with varying levels of the organization as needed.
