This position is for a Component Design & Release Engineer- V6 Engine This person would be focused on Propulsion Thermal Systems Engineering (IPTSE) Design and Release(D&R) Engineer on Fordu2019s V6 Nano Engine Powerpack Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for design and release activities associated with base engine valvetrain, VCT, and Cam Drive components on current and forward model applications. This person would be focused on Propulsion Thermal Systems Engineering (IPTSE) Design and Release(D&R) Engineer on Fordu2019s V6 Nano Engine Powerpack Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for design and release activities associated with base engine valvetrain, VCT, and Cam Drive components on current and forward model applications. What you'll dou2026 u00b7 Design, develop and release valvetrain and cam drive subsystem and components which meet program requirements and timing in accordance with Ford GPDS milestones. u00b7 Lead / Support resolution of all design, manufacturing, quality, and launch issues. u00b7 Create, complete, and approve supplier and Ford engine DVPs and oversee testing in support of robust validation. o Lead Sub System CPMT activities. o Support all program meetings (EPMT, Design Review, DPMT, change control, etc.). u00b7 Lead drawing release and changes. u00b7 Interface with Calibration, mating components, Purchasing, suppliers, and mfg./assembly plants. u00b7 Prototype Build coordination: load forward model part numbers into system and ensure fit and function. u00b7 Work directly with suppliers, Supplier Technical Assistance (STA), and launch teams to support programs and resolve quality issues, including travel both domestic and international when required. u00b7 WERS (Worldwide engineering release system) coordination; alerts, Concerns and SREA processing. u00b7 Develop and maintain CPMT documents, including appropriate quality documents (ESOW, DFMEA, FEDE, e3P, SCCAFu2019s, Global Integrator, OPTEX, PPAP & PSWu2019s, 543 Chart etc.) for program specific sub-system responsibilities. u00b7 Create, complete, and approve supplier and internal DV/PV test plans and oversee testing in support of robust validation. u00b7 Lead/Support warranty reduction and issue resolution using a structured 8D documented approach. u00b7 Lead/Support TVM cost reduction idea generation and implementation. u00b7 Lead/Support change control activities. u00b7 Travel as necessary to Ford Assembly Plants/Facilities and Suppler/Sub-Supplier sites for issue resolution and build support. You'll have... u00b7 Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent u00b7 2+ years of valvetrain and/or cam drive component and system/subsystem D&R experience. u00b7 Strong interpersonal and communication skills u00b7 Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) u00b7 Knowledge of FMEAu2019s, Control Plans, and DV/PV Plans. u00b7 Knowledge of GD&T and Dimensional Control (SPC, Statistics, Etc.) u00b7 Strong problem solving skills and background. u00b7 An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team Even better, you may haveu2026 u00b7 Master's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent u00b7 Other component and Systems/Subsystems internal combustion engine D&R experience. u00b7 Proven delivery of balanced Quality, Cost, Weight and Functional attributes for components / sub-systems. u00b7 Utilization of Six Sigma tools & problem-solving tools.
