Job Title: Materials EngineerJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Materials Engineer responsible for determining the root causes of deviations from critical process specifications, particularly in relation to Braze-related issues. This role involves educating and training operators on proper procedures and processes, creating and revising work instructions, and developing training materials. You will be instrumental in driving improvement by implementing and maintaining feedback systems and ensuring the Braze department's performance meets financial targets such as yields and rework. Responsibilities + Determine root causes of deviations from critical process specifications to resolve Braze-related issues. + Educate and train operators about proper procedures and processes, including creating and revising work instructions and training materials. + Drive improvement through implementing and maintaining feedback systems. + Institute proper monitoring of the Braze department's performance to ensure financial targets are met, including yields and rework. + Foster continuous improvement by utilizing process management, control plans, and Cpk monitoring. + Act with an innovative spirit, willing to challenge the status quo and seek the implementation of improved processes and new technology, including increased automation. + Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality, and reliability. + Collaborate with the automation team to increase first-time yield and equipment uptime on automated equipment. + Develop improved preventative maintenance programs to promote the improvement of automated processes. + Support the Heat Treat Process Owner to maintain NADCAP certification. + Pursue the elimination of waste, improvement of equipment reliability and efficiency, and reduction of operating costs. + Provide support to Metallography lab and Heat Treatment, Weld, and Alloy Process Owners. Essential Skills + Experience with braze, NADCAP, and heat treatment processes. + 2-3 years of experience with heat treatment. + Ability to read blueprints. + Proficiency in non-destructive testing. + Knowledge of metallurgy, robotics, mechanical systems, super alloys, casting, and casting processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university. + Ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization. + Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt. + Experience working with controls/programming robotics. + Demonstrated ability to create and deliver training in technical topics. + Experience with brazing, welding, and/or metal joining systems and their application in a manufacturing environment. + Technical knowledge of heat treatment thermal processing with an emphasis on brazing processes. + Demonstrated methodical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment and related issues. + Strong analytical skills. + Strong verbal and written communication skills. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
