Temp position Pay Up to 37.6/hr depending on education and experience level EHS Specialist u2013 Research & Innovation Client: Global Beauty & Personal Care Organization (Lu2019Oru00e9al R&I) Location: Clark, NJ (onsite) Duration: Temporary assignment Schedule: Full-time Position Overview The Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist will support site-wide EHS programs within a Research & Innovation environment, with a strong emphasis on data analytics, regulatory compliance, and environmental program coordination. This role will serve as a key resource to the site EHS team by managing EHS data systems, supporting compliance initiatives, coordinating environmental permitting and waste programs, and assisting with training and communication efforts. The EHS Specialist will partner cross-functionally with facilities, laboratories, operations, and external stakeholders to help drive risk reduction, maintain regulatory compliance, and promote a proactive safety culture. Key Responsibilities EHS Data Analytics & Reporting (45%) + Maintain and analyze EHS data related to incidents, near misses, inspections, audits, training, and environmental metrics. + Develop and manage Excel-based dashboards, pivot tables, and trend analyses to support site decision-making. + Prepare routine and ad-hoc reports for site leadership, corporate EHS, and regulatory submissions. + Ensure data integrity, consistency of metrics, and standardized reporting practices. + Support incident investigations and root cause analysis through data trending and visualization. Regulatory Compliance & Environmental Programs (30%) + Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state/local environmental regulations. + Assist with environmental permitting activities including air permits, emissions tracking, and required recordkeeping. + Coordinate hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, manifests, and vendor interactions. + Maintain EHS documentation including procedures, forms, and compliance records. + Support site inspections, audits, and corrective action tracking to closure. + Research regulatory requirements and industry best practices to support program improvements. Training & Communication (15%) + Develop and update EHS training materials, presentations, and job aids. + Coordinate onboarding and refresher training with EHS leadership and HR. + Track training completion and provide reporting metrics to leadership. + Support site-wide safety initiatives, campaigns, and communications. Continuous Improvement & Projects (10%) + Participate in EHS continuous improvement initiatives and special projects. + Support incident investigations by organizing documentation and tracking corrective actions. + Assist in audit readiness for corporate and regulatory inspections. + Partner with EHS leadership on risk reduction and exposure control initiatives. Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. + Approximately 7u201310 years of relevant EHS experience in manufacturing, laboratory, or industrial environments. + Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts) and PowerPoint. + Experience working with EHS data systems, reporting tools, or environmental tracking platforms. + Working knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations (air permits, waste management, wastewater, etc.). + Ability to interpret regulations and translate requirements into practical site actions. + Strong communication and presentation skills. + Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, CIH, or CHMM preferred. + Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
