Position: Accounts Receivable Specialist Job Type: Full-time Location: Mississauga, ON Reports To: Finance Manager / Controller About the Role: The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing the organization’s accounts receivable processes to ensure timely invoicing, consistent cash flow, and accurate financial records. This role involves proactively contacting delinquent franchisees, addressing billing inquiries, and working closely with project teams to reconcile financial discrepancies. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will also conduct cost analyses, prepare financial reports, and maintain detailed records of costs and expenses, including credit card reconciliations, in support of the organization’s overall financial health and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Contact delinquent franchisees by phone and email to follow up on overdue accounts and ensure timely collections. Generate, review, and issue invoices in accordance with company accounting procedures. Respond to franchisee billing inquiries and investigate invoice or payment discrepancies. Monitor customer accounts to identify non-payments, irregularities, and potential risks. Coordinate with the legal department to escalate delinquent accounts when required. Manage accounts receivable transactions related to projects and franchisees. Perform cost analysis and reconcile financial discrepancies with project teams. Prepare Statements of Account (SOA) and reports on actual costs. Maintain accurate records of project costs and expenses, including credit card reconciliations. Support ad-hoc accounting and finance-related tasks as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or Project Accounting. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices. Experience with project invoicing and billing processes. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reconciliations, reporting). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with franchisees and internal teams. High attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities. Experience in QSR or franchising environments is strongly preferred.
