Sr. Accountant

Description Our client is a growing construction company looking for a Senior Accountant to join their team located east of Upper Marlboro, Maryland. This role is essential to maintaining the integrity of their financial operations and ensuring compliance with established accounting standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial reporting, and month-end processes, while contributing to strategic planning and process improvements. This role is in the office with 1 day from home after a training period. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in alignment with accounting standards. u2022 Lead month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring all deadlines are met. u2022 Utilize accounting systems effectively to streamline financial management tasks. u2022 Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory compliance requirements. u2022 Provide support during external audits by preparing necessary documentation. u2022 Identify and implement improvements to financial processes and workflows. u2022 Generate ad-hoc reports and analyses to address management and operational needs. Requirements u2022 At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry. u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; certifications demonstrating attention to detail are a plus. u2022 Proficient in accounting systems and software, with expertise in month-end and year-end close procedures. u2022 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. u2022 Effective communication and collaboration abilities, fostering teamwork across departments. u2022 Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. u2022 Commitment to accuracy and compliance in all financial operations.
