Summary The Informatics Nurse is an expert clinician in a specialized area of nursing practice. The incumbent: Applies the nursing process principles within a collaborative, inter professional practice setting. Effectively determines the most appropriate use of expertise in systems issues requiring intervention and quality and performance measures. Determines the most appropriate use of expertise in clinical informatics coordination, patient and staff education, and quality and performance measures. Responsibilities ~Applies the nursing process principles within a collaborative, interprofessional practicesetting. ~Effectively determines the most appropriate use of expertise in systems issues requiring intervention and quality and performance measures. ~Determines the most appropriate use of expertise in clinical informatics coordination, patient and staff education, attention to systems issues that require intervention, and quality and performance measures. ~Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interprofessional team. ~Possesses knowledge of and active participation in quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as customer service programs. ~Influences program or service level care outcomes by providing expert consultation and clinical guidance within the field of informatics and by implementing improvements in clinical health care delivery systems.
