Budget Analyst

Description Kristin Wasson is seeking a highly skilled Budget Analyst to join our team. This position plays a critical role in preparing and managing budgets across multiple departments, ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and advanced expertise in Excel to support complex financial processes. Responsibilities: u2022 Develop and manage comprehensive budgets for various departments and programs, ensuring accuracy and compliance. u2022 Create and maintain detailed financial reports and spreadsheets, including grant-related budgets and annual operating budgets. u2022 Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for improving budgetary processes. u2022 Utilize advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables, to streamline data formatting and reporting tasks. u2022 Collaborate with department leaders to gather budget requirements and address any discrepancies. u2022 Support the implementation of budget-to-actual comparisons and assist in exploring AI solutions for process improvement. u2022 Assist with updating employee rates and program-specific financial details annually. u2022 Coordinate with multiple teams, including operations, behavioral health, and public health, to ensure budget alignment. u2022 Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses and reports as needed. u2022 Communicate effectively with stakeholders and seek guidance when necessary to resolve complex issues. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in budgeting and financial analysis, ideally within county, municipal, or government settings. u2022 Strong proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables and complex formulas. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. u2022 Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams. u2022 Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. u2022 Experience preparing budgets for multi-faceted organizations or programs. u2022 Ability to analyze and interpret financial data to support decision-making. u2022 Familiarity with grant budgeting and reporting processes is a plus.
