Description: BID/JOB ANNOUNCEMENT APPLICATIONS SYSTEMS ANALYST Department of Technology and Innovation IT Support Number of Positions: 3 (Additional vacancies are possible pending budget approval) Annual Starting Salary: $68,616 These positions are open to the general public and to all current city employees covered under the terms of the City's collective bargaining agreement with the AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) u2013 (BARGAINING UNIT #01, 03, 04, 05) . Under general supervision, these entry-level positions partner with Business Analysts to translate routine business requirements into technical specification and partners with developers and QA Analysts to develop logical technical processes; works with stakeholders to identify and define needs/issues, document requirements, perform analysis, solve problems with fact-based analysis and provide recommendations and performs related duties as required. Essential Duties: u00b7 Partners with Business Analysts and technical teams to understand, define system goals and business requirements. u00b7 Partners with application development team to understand routine application goals and requirements. u00b7 Partners with Business Analysts to translate business requirements to technical system requirements. u00b7 Create technical specifications and processes using structured analysis and data modeling techniques (e.g., activity diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams). u00b7 Partners with designers to build application/system functionality and quality attributes. u00b7 Assists technical groups in revising logic for performance efficiency. u00b7 Builds and leverage automation to decrease overall application and system deployment and support cycle time. u00b7 Participates in application/system and user acceptance testing efforts. u00b7 Builds standards, processes and procedures, and guidelines for Business Analysts and software developers. u00b7 Assists Business Analysts to evaluate cost-benefit and ROI analyses. _Additional duties may be required for this position._ Location: 2 N. Lasalle, Suite#1010 Chicago, IL 60602 Shift: Monday-Friday Hours: 8:00a.m. to 4:00p.m. (Flexible) ( _Shift may vary due to the needs of the operation_ ) THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with an Associateu2019s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a directly related field. OR Two (2) years of work experience in system analysis and design. NOTE : To be considered for this position you must provide information about your educational background and/or work experience.
