Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) u2013 Jacksonville, FL Actalent is hiring a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to support our growing client base in the North Florida market. Overview Actalent is seeking a licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead surveying operations for land development, transportation, municipal infrastructure, and commercial construction projects throughout the Jacksonville region. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction layout surveying while providing leadership and quality oversight to field and office teams. Key Responsibilities + Oversee and certify boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS Land Title, route, and construction surveys. + Prepare, review, and sign/seal survey maps, plats, legal descriptions, easements, and reports. + Manage multiple survey projects, including scheduling, budgeting, QA/QC, and client communication. + Provide technical guidance to survey technicians, CAD staff, and field crews. + Utilize GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors, and GIS software to complete highu2011accuracy survey work. + Coordinate with engineers, planners, contractors, and permitting agencies throughout project lifecycles. + Ensure compliance with state and local regulations, Florida surveying standards, and project-specific requirements. + Maintain organized documentation, field notes, and digital records. Qualifications + Active Florida Professional Surveyor and Mapper (PSM) License (formerly PLS). + 5+ years of experience in land surveying, including boundary and topographic work. + Experience managing crews or leading survey operations is strongly preferred. + Proficiency with survey equipment and software (Trimble, Leica, Carlson, Civil 3D, or similar). + Strong understanding of Florida State Statutes, administrative codes, and survey standards. + Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and project coordination abilities. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $77.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
