Job Description POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Senior Auditor/Consultant participates on process and operational audit assignments and supports Audit Management in the planning and execution of operational audits in line with the vision and strategy of General Motor Audit Services (GMAS). The Senior Auditor may also co-lead audits or act as Lead Auditor of small audit assignments. GMAS provides independent, objective assurance and advisory services designed to strengthen General Motors Companyu2019s operations and support informed risk taking. The objective of GMAS is to assist senior management and the board in the effective discharge of their responsibilities by providing independent controls assurance, analysis, recommendations, and information concerning activities reviewed. The scope of GMAS responsibility and work includes, but is not limited to, evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of the Companyu2019s risk management, internal control and governance processes, as well as the quality of performance in carrying out the Companyu2019s stated goals and objectives. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: u2022 Actively attends and supports walkthrough and process owner meetings u2022 Prepares process narratives, maps and flowcharts of processes based on walkthroughs u2022 Performs audit tests and prepares workpapers and other reporting documents u2022 Documents test work in the STAR system u2022 Evaluates test results including identification of gaps, symptoms and root cause u2022 Identifies alternative controls and develop initial draft recommendations for issues identified in testing u2022 Assists in preparation of the draft audit report u2022 Evaluates the completeness of the auditeeu2019s corrective action plans u2022 Elevates issues/concerns as necessary within GMAS u2022 Performs related work as assigned by lead auditor(s) and/or Manager u2022 Completes work timely and in accordance with GMAS Audit Methodology, Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and other applicable standards, and defined plans, budgets, and schedules u2022 Develops an understanding of appropriate business aspects, risks, potential fraud, performance requirements and control processes and systems of auditable activities assigned to audit u2022 Participates in ongoing professional development Prepares effective and efficient compliance and substantive test plans u2022 Leads meetings with process owners to understand the process u2022 Provides guidance to staff auditors in execution of GMAS Audit Methodology u2022 Recommends changes in audit process in order to maintain the highest quality standards u2022 Develops a good understanding of GM operations worldwide u2022 Begins building relationships to interface with the business and service lines u2022 Serves as a brand ambassador for u2018One GMASu2019 SKILLS/ABILITIES: u2022 High level of integrity u2022 Effective oral and written communication skills u2022 Strong interpersonal and organizational skills u2022 Demonstrates positive, proactive attitude u2022 Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities u2022 Ability to continuously learn and demonstrate intellectual curiosity u2022 Ability to work independently u2022 Ability to exercise sound judgement u2022 Effective time management skills, including ability to work on more than one audit or project simultaneously u2022 Ability to prioritize tasks u2022 Ability to adapt to change quickly u2022 Work as One Team u2022 Professional skepticism u2022 Effective conflict management skill u2022 Demonstrate leadership ability u2022 Demonstrate critical thinking skills u2022 Ability to understand and identify trends and themes using data u2022 Ability to stage and visualize data to draw out business intelligence u2022 Ability to identify data deficiencies (e.g., missing/erroneous inputs) KNOWLEDGE: The role will require knowledge of the automotive industry in one or more of the key functional areas of design, build and sell. Relevant background knowledge could include operational experience and/or auditing experience in the automotive industry. EXPERIENCE: Required: 5+ years of experience in related positions within finance, auditing, engineering, manufacturing, EVs, sales/service or purchasing/supply chain. College degree with major in accounting or business administration, or related equivalent experience in engineering, manufacturing, EVs, sales/service or purchasing/supply chain. Preferred: _u2022_ Experience auditing or analyzing processes within engineering, manufacturing, EVs, sales/service or purchasing/supply chain. u2022 Experience in developing or implemented cross-functional processes and procedures. u2022 Graduate Degree u2022 Relevant professional certification (CIA, CPA, or other similar business certification) Location: This role is based remotely, but if you live within a 50-mile radius of Atlanta, Austin, Detroit, Warren, Pontiac, Milford or Mountain View, you are expected to report to that location three times a week, at minimum. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position, as well as geography of the selected candidate. + The salary range for this role is $71,300 - $109,400.
