Eatonu2019s CPDI OPS Operations division is currently seeking a Test Technician l - 1st Shift. At our Raleigh, NC location they engineer, manufacturer, and ship products related to electrical power distribution to 6 different segments. Some of those include Utilities, Institutions, Aerospace, and Residential. What youu2019ll do: The Test Technician I will perform testing, troubleshooting and repairs on single phase and three phase medium voltage UPS systems In this function you will: u2022 You will exhibit a strong adherence to quality by continually seeking methods of improvement for all functions of the position. You will ensure that all products and parts adequately meet Eatonu2019s quality guidelines as they move throughout the production process and perform quality checks as instructed. u2022 You will read electronic schematics to ensure products meet defined specifications u2022 You will report any Non-conformance items by utilizing our Quality Management Guidelines u2022 You will recommend modifications and improvements to enhance the products for quality, reliability, manufacturability and cost effectiveness u2022 You will communicate with Production Associates, Quality Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Engineers and Test Engineers to resolve daily production and warranty issues u2022 You will check maintain equipment to ensure compliance with ISO 9000:2000 standards u2022 You will identify and implement corrective actions for the repair, replacement and calibration of laboratory tools and manufacturing equipment u2022 You will use the principles of 5S+ to ensure a clean and organized work area Qualifications: Basic (Required) Qualifications: u2022 High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required u2022 A minimum of one year of work experience in electronics with testing and troubleshooting skills u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. Preferred Qualifications: u2022 Associateu2019s Degree in electronics from an accredited school u2022 Previous experience with DC battery currents u2022 Previous experience with Microsoft Office Applications Skills: u2022 Basic knowledge of Electronic Test Measurement Devices u2022 Manufacturing systems knowledge (KANBAN, JIT, Production scheduling) u2022 Knowledge of switchboard and switchgear operations; electrical and electronic devices u2022 Demonstrated ability to take and give direction u2022 Ability to use good judgment and problem solving skills to make informed decisions u2022 Good interpersonal and presentation skills u2022 Ability to communicate effectively across all levels u2022 Basic computer knowledge of Windows based operating systems and programs u2022 Ability to read and understand formal, informal drawings, and/or electronic schematics u2022 Ability to completely test and troubleshoot electronic products u2022 Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed u2022 Ability to lift 50 lbs. u2022 Ability to distinguish colored wiring u2022 Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
