Requisition ID: 178923 Job Level: Senior Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Power Delivery Department: Design Engineering Market: Power Employment Type: Full Time Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Overhead Transmission Manager to lead a growing team of engineers and designers supporting high voltage transmission and distribution projects across the country. This role combines technical leadership, project oversight, and strategic team development for overhead line projects ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV in both traditional engineering design and EPC environments. As the Overhead Transmission Manager, you will guide the full lifecycle of transmission line projectsu2014from conceptual routing and structure selection through detailed design, quality review, and construction support. Youu2019ll oversee multidisciplinary coordination, ensure technical excellence, and help drive consistent, efficient project execution. Location This position is based out of Raleigh, NC. Responsibilities u2022 Lead and mentor a team of transmission engineers and designers working on overhead line projects. u2022 Oversee development of conceptual designs, including routing studies, structure type evaluation, conductor selection, and constructability assessments. u2022 Review and approve detailed design deliverables such as o Plan & profile drawings o Structure loading and design packages o Hardware and conductor specifications o Foundation load requirements o Bills of material and construction work packages u2022 Ensure effective use of industry standard tools such as PLS CADD, PLS Pole/Tower, and SAG10. u2022 Manage project schedules, staffing plans, and resource allocation to meet client and project requirements. u2022 Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, and construction risks to support safe and efficient project delivery. u2022 Coordinate closely with substation, civil, structural, environmental, and construction teams to ensure integrated solutions. u2022 Provide engineering support during procurement and construction, including responding to RFIs and resolving field issues. u2022 Contribute to team growth by developing standards, improving processes, and mentoring junior staff. u2022 Manage schedule and budget u2022 Manage deliverables, quality, and compliance u2022 Interface with other Kiewit operating districts u2022 Interface with construction project leadership u2022 Visit construction sites, meet in client offices, and travel out of town to tour supplier facilities as required by projects and assignments. Qualifications u2022 Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited University u2022 At least ten yearsu2019 experience performing overhead transmission engineering-related duties u2022 Professional Engineer (PE) license required u2022 Proficient in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE; PLS TOWER experience preferred u2022 Knowledge of MFAD, LPILE, and geotechnical recommendation application for foundation design preferred u2022 Knowledge of client and industry standards including NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and RUS u2022 Experience leading teams and projects u2022 Experience managing direct reports including approving timesheets, performance appraisals, and resource planning preferred u2022 Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative u2022 Strong work ethic, willingness to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time u2022 Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity u2022 Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt u2022 Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills u2022 Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives u2022 Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail #LI-RF1 Working Conditions Other Requirements: + Regular, reliable attendance + Work productively and meet deadlines timely + Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. + Perform work safely and effectively.
