Our staff also supportshort and long-term technical projects to meet the diverse and growingneeds of campus. This position provides technical expertise in theGeneral Desktop Support (GDS) team and will report to the manager ofthat team. Technicians in this position possess a strong understandingof IT technologies and serve as a subject matter expert. They have astrong understanding of Windows and macOS platforms, networkadministration, and scripting. This position requires a blend ofhands-on technical skills, small project coordination capabilities, andexcellent communication skills to provide clear and consistentexpectations to both team members and customers. As a Desktop SupportTechnician, you will provide specialized technical support to assistcustomers in the planning, deployment, and support of Windows and Macendpoints, network administration, file access permissions management,and other IT related activities. You will be resolve customer issues,maintain computer inventories, document work within an incidentmanagement system, collaborate with other DoIT technical teams, andparticipate in and lead small projects which are initiated by bothoperational and customers needs. Occasionally, you will be performingthese functions in a health care setting where additional training willbe provided. Responsibilities include: Perform a variety of technicaltasks supporting Windows and Mac endpoints, customer processes andunique hardware, and end user applications.
