We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together As a General Extender, you will be responsible for responsible for augmenting a physician's ability to provide medical interpretation services to patients; assist in the creation of all Radiology reports, editing reports for accuracy and compliance with the American Health Association (AHA) and American College of Radiology (ACR) Guidelines. This is a part-time position, working 24 hours per week, variable shifts (mainly midday during the week and weekends).ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:(95%) General ExtenderAugment a physician's ability to provide medical interpretation services to patients; assist in the creation of Radiology Final Reports, editing reports for accuracy and compliance with AHA and ACR Guidelines.Work directly with radiologists to place radiographic findings into appropriate reports for all modalities of radiology. Requires strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.Transcribe radiographic dictations into radiographic reports. Prepare completed reports for distribution to clients.Manage the work list of patient orders and distribute orders to appropriate radiologists and/or sub-specialty worklist.Work closely with other General Extenders to achieve the common goal of having all orders read by radiologists within the required turn-around time.(5%) Other tasks as assignedRequired:Associate's degree in health science, or related field, or the equivalent in applicable work experience.One (1) year experience as a Medical Transcriptionist or Medical EditorOne (1) year work experience which required daily use of medical terminology and demonstrated knowledge of human anatomyPreferred:Bachelor's degree in healthcare, or related fieldTwo (2) years' experience working in Diagnostic Technology, or other related anatomy/medically focused areaRAYUS is committed to delivering clinical excellence in communities across the U.S., driven by our passion for and superior service to referring providers and patients.
