Job Title Civil Engineering Internship Employment Type Starting Pay Range Posting Date Part-time $22.31 - $27.89 2/25/2026 Employment Classification Division Closing Date Temporary Energy Delivery 3/11/2026 LES is seeking a motivated engineering student for a full-time internship during the summer of 2026. The selected candidate will have the option to continue working with LES through the fall semester of 2026 as either a part time intern, or a full-time CO-OP. CORE COMPETENCIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES This position is within the Transmission & Civil Design department of LESu2019 Energy Delivery Division. The departmentu2019s primary responsibility is the structural design of transmission lines, distribution lines, and substation civil infrastructure. This position will work under the guidance of licensed professional civil engineers on multiple projects and perform a variety of duties both in the oufb03ce and out in the ufb01eld. This is not a remote position and requires residency within reasonable commuting distance to LES in Lincoln, Nebraska daily. + Assist in the design of high-voltage power lines, transmission structures, and substations. + Learn and work with leading industry software such as PLS-CADD, ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and SAP. + Assist with asset management, field inspections, drafting, facility modeling, and engineering analysis. + Research new technologies for application to the department. + Collaborate with staufb00 and management on engineering requirements and specifications.
