Job Description Imagine designing the infrastructure that powers the worldu2019s most critical facilities. As a Senior Substation Design Engineer on Olssonu2019s Substation and Power Generation team, youu2019ll play a key role in delivering resilient, highu2011capacity electrical systems that support data centers, missionu2011critical facilities, and largeu2011scale power users. This role goes beyond traditional substation work. Youu2019ll contribute to complex power delivery solutions that enable rapid load growth, redundancy, and reliabilityu2014helping clients meet the demanding performance requirements of modern data center environments while strengthening the electrical grid that supports our communities. In this senioru2011level role, youu2019ll lead the design and delivery of substation and power infrastructure projects from concept through construction. Youu2019ll collaborate directly with clients, engineers, and multidisciplinary teams to solve complex power challenges, balancing technical excellence with speed, scalability, and longu2011term system performance. Key Responsibilities: + Lead Substation & Power Infrastructure Design: Design highu2011voltage substations, switching stations, and power delivery systems supporting data centers and other missionu2011critical facilities. + Own Projects Endu2011tou2011End: Guide projects through planning, studies, detailed design, and construction administration, ensuring reliability, constructability, and schedule alignment. + Partner with Clients: Work directly with data center owners, developers, utilities, and internal stakeholders to deliver power solutions that meet demanding uptime, capacity, and growth requirements. + Collaborate Across Disciplines: Coordinate with protection & controls, transmission, distribution, and generation teams to deliver integrated, highu2011quality solutions. + Support Growth & Innovation: Contribute technical expertise that helps expand Olssonu2019s data center and power delivery portfolio while mentoring engineers and strengthening best practices. You bring to the team: + Strong communication, collaboration, and problemu2011solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and with diverse clients. + A bacheloru2019s degree in Electrical Engineering. + Professional Engineer (PE) licensure. + Eight or more years of progressive electrical engineering experience, with a strong background in substation design, power delivery, or utilityu2011scale infrastructure. + Experience supporting largeu2011load or missionu2011critical facilities (such as data centers, industrial campuses, or generation facilities), including coordination with utilities, clients, and internal engineering teams #LI-DD1 Additional Information Olsson specializes in engineering and design, client advisory services, planning, field services, and environmental.
