For semester start and end dates, see GRCC's Academic Calendar.u00a0Requisition ID: 1086u00a0Employee Group:Winter Semesteru00a0Compensation: to: Associate Dean - School of STEMu00a0Posting Opens: 02/24/2026u00a0Posting Closes: Open until filledESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSu00a0u2022 Teach GRCC course offering(s) in Physicsu2022 Perform tasks normally expected of adjunct faculty members:u2022 Follow the required syllabus template.u2022 Use the required textbook as determined by the department.u2022 Meet classes during the time scheduled and for the appropriate length of time required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.u2022 State course outcomes clearly at the beginning of the course and state the criteria and procedures for evaluating student attainment of these objectives.u2022 Promote an intellectually stimulating atmosphere in the classroom which is conducive to the attainment of high academic achievement and stated course outcomes.u2022 Keep accurate student academic records.u2022 Report grades by contractual deadline.u2022 Make reasonable accommodations as approved by the Disability Support Services to meet students' needs and in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).u2022 Follow College policy on the Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA).u2022 Make all reasonable efforts to respond to communication in a timely manner and provide reasonable means for student access to course information.u00a0JOB SPECIFICATIONSQualificationsu00a0Required:u00a0u2022 Must have a completed Master's degree in Physics from an accredited college or university or a Master's degree in a related field with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Physics from an accredited college or university.u00a0Preferred:u00a0u2022 Teaching experience at a community college.u2022 Experience working with adults from diverse backgrounds and with varying academic skills.u00a0Skillsu00a0u2022 Demonstrated expertise in the subject area and a commitment to continuous professional development.u2022 Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.u2022 Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and faculty team.u2022 Proficiency in using instructional technology and learning management systems (e.g.,Gmail, Canvas, Blackboard).u2022 Excellent written and oral communication skills.u00a0
