Unlock your potential!Job Summary and QualificationsOperates Diagnostic Ultrasound Equipment to perform Diagnostic Ultrasound procedures.Responsible forcleaning ofultrasound transducers and QC documentation.Preparespatientfor the procedure, gathering relevant information for documentation& scanning. (orders, questionnaires, consents)Responsible forcleaning ofultrasound transducers and QC documentation.Preparespatientfor the procedure, gathering relevant information for documentation& scanning. (orders, questionnaires, consents)Usesappropriate Thermo-regulation, using warmed Ultrasonic gel.Practices radiation safety in radiography ofpatients.Evaluates images foroptimaltechnical quality priorto sending to PACS.Is proficient in all PACS and digital imagingapplicationsto. Reviews studies as needed with the Radiologist todetermineany need foradditionalimaging.PreparesUltrasoundrooms with the necessaryequipment and supplies for the procedure.Assistsphysicians with diagnostic & therapeuticprocedures.Administers contrast media, as required & performseMARfunctions, as necessary.Performs quality control procedures in compliancewith state and federal regulations tomaintainquality and safety standards.Maintains established departmental policies/procedures,objectives, performance improvement measures, safety, environmental and infection control standards.Participate in the Patient Satisfaction Survey process.PerformsTimeOutprocedureas necessary.Performs Medication Reconciliation, as needed.Performs patient assessments, obtaining pertinent patient information and history.Assistswith patient transport and transfer as needed,assuring patient comfort & safety atall times.Provides patient and family education, as necessary.Maintains orderly & clean work area.Checks equipment,suppliesand accessories on a regular basis.Performs clerical,receptionand scheduling duties, as necessary.Operates Meditech, other computers, printers & copiers withproficiency.Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, currentliteratureand in-services to meet the continuing education requirements of the ARRT or other professional organizations.Attends andparticipatesin departmental and hospital wide meetings, as designated.Establishes andmaintainsa good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, otherdepartmentsand the medical staff.Follows Standards of Behavior.Able to access MSDS sheets.Performs other related duties as assigned orrequired.What qualifications you will need:Qualifications/Licensure/Certification/Registration/: Current Certification by ARDMSor similar approved certification. Or must be registry eligible if new graduate of an accredited school and must complete Ultrasound certification withinor similar approved certification6 monthsof hire.BLSCertifiedGraduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.Hours: Full time, weekdays onlyLewisGale Hospital-Alleghany is a 204-bed acute care facility in Low Moor, Virginia.
