Morgan Advanced Materials is seeking qualified applicants to fill the role of Calibration Technician in our Coudersport facility. This role reports directly to the Senior Quality Engineer and is a vital member of our Quality Team.Morgan Advanced Materials is a world leader inadvanced materials science and engineering of ceramics, carbon and composites. These materials help solve the problems associated with the use of lubricants in extreme temperatures, corrosive or hygienic environments where access is restricted, and are engineered into products which provide customer-specific solutions.Group Key Figures: Revenue £950m (2021), ~7,500 employees, manufacturing in 30+ countries, and customers in 100+ countries. Listed on London Stock Exchange; Member of the FTSE 250 Index.Maintain and update all gauging and the gauging data base to assure calibrations are up-to-date and calibrated to current QOP’s. Work with vendors as necessary to acquire, repair, and maintain gauges needed to meet manufacturing and customer requirements. Perform roles and responsibilities in accordance with direction from the Quality Supervisor and the Quality Engineers.Essential Functions:Perform gauging R&R studies when required.Maintain and update gauging data base to assure calibrations are current.Calibrate all gauging according to current QOP’s.Write and/or update QOP’s on new and present gauging as necessary.Repair defective gauging when possible. Acquire in-house repairs if necessary. With assistance from the Purchasing Dept., locate an outside repair vendor for gauging if repair cannot be done in-house.Verify micrometers and gauging equipment in the Gauge Room and Shop Floor.Obtain pricing quotes and order gauging from vendors when needed.Schedule external calibration and ncessary repairs with approved vendors and oversee and assist the vendor, as needed during the time they are in the facility.Assist operators with gauges as necessary.Maintain cleanliness and organization in the Gage Room.Perform and assist with internal and external quality audits.Routine maintenance and cleanliness of measuring equipment to maintain optimal functionality and prevent malfunction.Performs other duties as assigned.High school graduate or equivalent.Proficient in basic math skills - multiplication, division, addition and subtraction required.Basic understanding of quality management systems in an ISO 9001/AS 9100 is preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years of general laboratory experience preferred.Experience with developing/documenting procedures. Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office and data entry).Additional Requirements:Quality orientation and high attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Willingness to pursue related professional certification.Experience working with high performance teams.
