Job Title: Painter Job Description As a Painter, you will be responsible for managing the workload and efficiently staging work. You will oversee the preparation process to ensure parts are masked correctly according to the drawings, and maintain proper chemical concentrations in the wash system. You will also ensure correct settings on the powder coat booth to adhere to our processes, verify the conformance of finished parts to specifications, and perform routine quality checks. Responsibilities + Review incoming jobs to determine workload and stage the work accordingly. + Oversee the prep process to ensure parts are masked correctly according to the drawing. + Maintain proper chemical concentration in the wash system. + Ensure correct settings on powder coat booth to adhere to our process. + Verify conformance of finished parts to specifications and issue them to the correct job. + Perform routine quality checks on each team member. + Perform daily maintenance duties and notify supervisor of any equipment-related issues. + Maintain a clean and orderly shop. + Maintain schedule for jobs and preventative maintenance. + Track output to ensure production efficiency. + Maintain a daily routine operator checklist. + Meet weekly with the supervisor to provide updates and feedback on the shop. + Comply with all company policies, rules, guidelines, and behavior expectations. + Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Essential Skills + Experience in painting and paint preparation. + Proficient with spray guns and masking techniques. + Skilled in the powder coating process. + Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. + Troubleshooting skills to ensure quality powder coating. + Knowledge of proper wash and cure steps in the powder coat process. + Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. + Ability to excel in a fast-paced work environment. Work Environment The work environment is non-climate controlled, and you will be performing the powder coating process in a paint booth, painting parts that come by on an overhead conveyor. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
