What youu2019ll do: Position Overview: The Application Engineer (Systems Design Engineer) is a consultative, technical sales professional responsible for customersu2019 in-house design engineering staff for hyperscale accounts. An application design engineer must possess both strong technical and commercial skills and be experienced in electrical power distribution, power quality, control and rack level power. This position is responsible for working with hyperscale principal design, product and reliability engineering teams to develop Eaton solutions for current and future data center distribution systems needs and medium voltage to rack level power. This position will also be responsible for providing technical product and application leadership for the global account team. They will engage closely with sales and hyperscale teams and ensure Eaton has cohesive strategy across all hyperscale accounts. They will represent hyperscale accounts during product line roadmap sessions, to ensure Eatonu2019s short- and long-term strategies position us for success. In this function you will: u2022 Support design engineers at hyperscale accounts, aiding technical design and positioning Eaton-related products in a preferred position u2022 Act as the primary point of contact for technical and engineering support for the Eaton and pep sales teams u2022 Serve as a technical expert within the hyperscale accounts team, offering comprehensive support to account managers for Eaton's full portfolio u2022 Facilitate technical collaboration between hyperscale and Eatonu2019s product lines, supporting product innovation and design recommendations based on customer needs u2022 Represents hyperscale in discussions with Eatonu2019s data center architect team, providing insight and guidance to long-term roadmap and grid to chip development Qualifications: Required (Basic) Qualifications: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree from an accredited institution u2022 Minimum seven (7) years of electrical sales/marketing and/or engineering experience u2022 Possess a valid driveru2019s license u2022 No relocation is offered for this position. Preferred Qualifications: u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution u2022 A Professional Engineer (PE) License u2022 LEED AP certification u2022 Extensive electrical experience u2022 Knowledge of Eaton electrical products, services and competitors Skills: Position Criteria: u2022 Possess excellent communication skills u2022 Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future u2022 Technical knowledge regarding the application of power distribution products including medium and low voltage switchgear, panelboards and switchboards, protective relaying and busway u2022 Experience in working with products and applications such as three-phase UPS systems, power distribution units, static transfer switches, remote power panels, power monitoring products (including metering and software), and power control products u2022 Strategic understanding of the U.S. power distribution and data center market u2022 Ability to write technical specifications for new projects in a manner that will put Eaton in an advantageous position when the project is bid u2022 Ability to interface with electrical consultant principals and lead electrical engineers, as well as facility engineers at data centers u2022 Problem solving skills u2022 Effective communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of an organization, including consultant or end user organizations u2022 Presentation and training skills - Initiative and self-management skills u2022 Proven capability to find creative solutions to solve complex technical application problems u2022 Value selling experience u2022 Ability to travel up to 25% (closer to 35%) The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $143,250 - $210,100. Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
