Eatonu2019s IS AER ITD division is currently seeking a Inspector III. The hourly rate for this position is range of $29.00 to $36.00 per hour. The hours for this shift are 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. What youu2019ll do: PRIMARY FUNCTION: This role is responsible for performing and verifying visual, dimensional, electrical, mechanical, environmental and chemical, inspection functions relating to source, first article, receiving, in process, final and test operations using company or customer supplied drawings, equipment and/or procedures. Actively participating in collaboration with high-performance work teams in continuous improvement in the different processes that may be required, among others, follow up Eaton policies. Reports to the Quality Supervisor or designated authority. Responsible for performing in-process and/or incoming dimensional and visual inspections of hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, and mechanical component parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: u2022 Reviews and approves inspection/test data u2022 Able to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and procedures u2022 Inspects (Incoming and/or in-process) are highly complex; closed tolerance aerospace precision machined components and/or assemblies visually and dimensionally for conformance to manufacturing drawings, quality control specifications and supplier/customer requirements. Other duties and/or responsibilities may be performed as part of cross-training or employee development plans. u2022 Responsible for review and acceptance of paperwork and documentation used in the acceptance of product. u2022 Responsible for producing necessary manual or computer-generated inspection reports to accept or reject products. u2022 Inspection involves using precision measurement equipment such as, but not limited to, calipers, micrometers, pin gages, thread plugs, thread ring gages, thread gages, surface plates, spring tester, optical comparator, surface plate, and CMM. u2022 Possesses in-depth understanding of geometrical tolerancing and dimensional measurements per ASME Y14.5. u2022 Possesses minimum of 3-5 years of experience in first article inspection of highly complex, close tolerance aerospace products. u2022 Performs inspection on surface plates using complex inspection layout equipment. u2022 Operates Coordinate Measuring Machines during the performance of inspections (or have a strong working knowledge of CMM capability). u2022 Witnesses and/or performs dimensional inspection on highly complex; closed tolerance machined components and tooling at suppliers (Source Inspection). u2022 Maintenance of inspection records in accordance with company procedures u2022 Generate and assist in the corrective/preventive action process u2022 Understand and support the Quality Management System u2022 Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned by leadership u2022 Support company quality manual and AS9100 requirements to maintain compliance. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications u2022 High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution required. u2022 Minimum of 5 years of related experience in mechanical inspection of highly complex, close tolerance aerospace products. u2022 No relocation is offered for this position. Only candidates who reside within a 50-mile radius of the Camarillo, CA facility will be considered. u2022 Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. u2022 This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. Preferred Qualifications: u2022 Experience with nondestructive inspection and imaging techniques, such as CT scanning and X-ray/radiographic imaging. u2022 Experience in hands on repair and maintenance skills. u2022 Able to work in various settings, including plumbing, electrical and industrial building in a high precision manufacturing environment. u2022 Physical strength and dexterity to lift, move and handle equipment. u2022 Construction skills, carpentry, painting, plumbing, and welding. u2022 Knowledge or experience inspecting various types of materials (e.g., aluminum, alloy, titanium, stainless steel, etc.). u2022 Knowledge or experience inspecting aerospace products with coatings (e.g., anodizing, cadmium plating, chromium plating, nickel plating, zinc plating, passivation, etc.). u2022 College or ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification a plus. u2022 Experience working in FAA environment. Basic knowledge of DFAR and Nadcap requirements.
