Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Accountant to join our team in Farmingdale, New York. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in managing financial operations and ensuring the accuracy of accounting records. This opportunity is ideal for professionals with expertise in accounts payable, journal entries, and general ledger management. Responsibilities: u2022 Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with accuracy and efficiency. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries to ensure proper recording of financial data. u2022 Conduct bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of transactions and balances. u2022 Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards. u2022 Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and financial modeling. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely processing of financial documents. u2022 Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. u2022 Generate financial reports and provide insights to support decision-making. u2022 Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. u2022 Proficiency in preparing and posting journal entries. u2022 Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations and general ledger management. u2022 Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis. u2022 Familiarity with accounting principles and standards. u2022 Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities. u2022 Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members. u2022 Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
