Unlock your potential Job Summary and Qualifications We are currently seeking a Patient Safety Attendant to join our team. As our Safety Attendant you will participate in high-quality, patient-centered care by providing continuous observation and monitoring for high risk patients. While in collaboration with the patient care team, the PSA ensures the patient environment is free of obstacles and minimizes risk of falls of accidental or intentional self-harm. Your tasks and responsibilities may include: u2022 You will assist with basic activities of daily living. u2022 You will maintain a direct line of sight with patient at all times, including while family and visitors are in the room. u2022 You will accompany patients and ensure patient safety during transportation, testing, and procedures occurring away from the patientu2019s normal environment. u2022 You will establish a safe, risk-free patient environment by utilizing knowledge of fall prevention protocols, infection control measures, and self-harm prevention. You will perform room assessment regularly and after any visitations. u2022 You will monitor your patientsu2019 physical and emotional condition. You will also report any changes in status promptly while remaining direct line of sight with the patient u2022 You will intervene as needed to prevent patient your patientsu2019 from harming self or others seeking immediate assistance for escalating incidents. Qualifications: u2022 One year experience in a healthcare setting is preferred u2022 Current AHA (American Heart Association) BLS (Basic Life Support) required on all clinical nursing units u2022 Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills + Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is a 237 bed acute care hospital.
