Mechanical Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support projects within our automotive clients Technical Group. This role involves mechanical design, project execution, and collaboration with internal teams, vendors, and outside contractors. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with CAD tools, and enjoys working directly on projects from concept through completion in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities + Support and lead mechanical engineering projects from initial concept through implementation. + Work closely with production, management, vendors, and outside contractors to ensure project success. + Develop and modify mechanical designs using AutoCAD and/or Inventor. + Assist with equipment, tooling, and process improvements in a manufacturing environment. + Apply basic machining knowledge to support hands-on project work and troubleshooting. + Prepare project documentation, schedules, and presentations using Excel and PowerPoint. + Prioritize daily tasks to meet project schedules and deadlines. + Learn and apply skills related to the automotive manufacturing industry. + Communicate effectively with team members and leadership throughout all project phases. Essential Skills + Experience with design software such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, and Inventor. + Mechanical engineering and new product development expertise. + Project management skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. + Basic machining knowledge. + Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. + Strong communication skills with both technical teams and management. + Demonstrated ability to lead projects from start to finish. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field. + Hands-on mindset and strong mechanical aptitude. + Experience working hands-on with projects and daily engineering tasks. Work Environment This position is based in a production and manufacturing facility that is relatively clean. It is a hands-on role, requiring the candidate to be on the floor working with maintenance and production teams. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cardington, OH.
