Summary The Chalmers P Wylie Veterans Outpatient Clinic in Columbus, Ohio is seeking to hire a Urologist, who reports to Surgery Service to serve Veterans at the main facility with potential to rotate to Community Based Outpatient Clinics within the Chalmers P. Wylie catchment area. Responsibilities VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package. VHA Physician Total Rewards. Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Authorized EDRP Authorized: This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply. Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting The applicant requests consultative, diagnostic and procedural privileges in Urology. Provide direct patient care to patients and clinical guidance. Participate in the progressive improvement of the service delivery, which may include programmatic participation in initiatives within the facility. Responsible for all aspects of medical care and provide or assist residents and/or the mid-level practitioner in the process of evaluation and treatment of the Urology patients Evaluate the patient to assess changes in the physical and mental status. A progress note is written in the patient's chart Coordinate with providers within their own and outside of their own Service Line, and with other VHA facilities or community providers as determined by the plan of care for the veteran Ultimately responsible to ensure barriers for Veterans and staff are minimized in order to promote a positive work environment. Fosters positive working relationships with staff, peers and Veterans Perform consultations within their own and other service lines as indicated Responsible for the provision of clinical care, graduate and undergraduate medical education, and scientific research as appropriate Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday through Friday, 7:30AM to 4:00PM Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
