Summary The VA Northeast Ohio Healthcare System is recruiting for an Physician (Acute). The Physician (Acute) will function in Medicine Service. This role involves extensive and challenging responsibilities, including approximately 50% overnight solo coverage of a busy Emergency Department and approximately 50% patient care duties on our inpatient and post-acute wards. These duties include cross-coverage and admissions on the inpatient medical wards and overseeing a high volume of patients in the post-acute, dementia, and long-term care spinal cord units. Clinical responsibilities are extensive and include direct patient care, supervision of advanced practice providers, and oversight of resident physicians. Additional responsibilities and shifts will be assigned according to the clinical needs of the Acute Medicine Section, demanding a high degree of flexibility and adaptability. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are essential to manage the fast-paced and multifaceted demands of this position. Board certification required and candidates will be eligible for faculty appointment at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine based on prior experience. Preference will be given to those with experience in emergency department, inpatient, and post-acute care environments.
