Job Title: Mechanical Assembler and Welder Job Description The Mechanical Assembler and Welder will perform mechanical assembly of products and shelter units from complex blueprints. Utilizing mechanical hand tools, air tools, and rivet guns, they will assemble units and install components. This role also involves MIG and TIG welding on steel and aluminum products, fitting them, and grinding final products to specification. Job assignments and duties will vary day-to-day and project-to-project, with a typical time split estimated between 60/40 and 70/30 in favor of assembly work. Responsibilities + Perform mechanical assembly of products and shelter units from complex blueprints. + Use mechanical hand tools, air tools, and rivet guns for assembly. + Install components accurately according to specifications. + Perform MIG and TIG welding on steel and aluminum products. + Fit and grind final products to meet specifications. + Adapt to varying job assignments and duties on a day-to-day and project-to-project basis. Essential Skills + Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding weld symbols. + Strong mechanical assembly skills. + 1+ years of experience in MIG and TIG welding. + Experience and ability to weld on aluminum and steel, including sheet metal and thicker steel work. + Ability and willingness to clean and grind welds to meet expectations. Work environment Work in a large job shop setting, primarily in welding areas with Miller welding machines. The job involves welding aluminum and steel. The work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, extreme hot/cold conditions, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and loud noise. Must be able to tolerate fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic substances. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallastown, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
